Unlock Your Path to Growth: Keri Nola’s Inspiring Book & Exclusive Wellness Giveaway
As a new week and a fresh season unfold, we’re thrilled to kick things off with a special treat designed to uplift your spirits and empower your personal growth journey. I am a firm believer in embracing life with the most positive outlook possible. For me, this philosophy involves actively cultivating positive thoughts, integrating daily affirmations into my routine, and consciously surrounding myself with individuals who genuinely uplift me and desire my utmost success and happiness. While I may not always embody this philosophy perfectly – after all, we all navigate challenging days – it remains a core aspiration, and I’ve consistently experienced profound rewards whenever I commit to it. This week, we have an exciting opportunity to share a resource that aligns perfectly with this mindset, offering practical tools and heartfelt encouragement for living a more fulfilled life.
Meet Keri Nola: Your Guide to Personal Growth and Mental Wellness
Recently, I had the pleasure of reconnecting with a long-time reader, Keri Nola. Our connection deepened through our respective Facebook pages, a testament to the incredible networking power of social media – apparently, she was introduced to my blog by an old coworker I haven’t seen in years! Keri is not just a reader; she’s a highly respected licensed mental health counselor practicing in my local area. Her professional expertise, coupled with her compassionate approach, makes her a truly authentic voice in the realm of mental wellness and self-discovery.
In 2010, Keri launched a Facebook page for her business, “Path To Growth,” where she began sharing daily doses of inspiration. These heartfelt messages resonated deeply with her growing audience and eventually blossomed into her first published book, A Year on Your Path to Growth. What I admire most about Keri’s Path To Growth Facebook page is the consistent stream of uplifting and positive messages she shares with her readers every single day. If you follow her page, you’ll find a daily dose of invaluable insights and encouraging words designed to foster a positive mindset and resilience.
These are truly feel-good messages, wouldn’t you agree? In an age saturated with news cycles that can often feel overwhelming, and social media feeds sometimes cluttered with negativity, I find Keri’s daily messages to be a much-needed, refreshing break. They offer a sanctuary of positive reinforcement, reminding us to focus on growth, resilience, and inner peace amidst life’s complexities. It’s a gentle nudge towards mindfulness and self-compassion that many of us crave in our busy lives.
A Deeper Dive into A Year on Your Path to Growth
Keri’s book, A Year on Your Path to Growth, builds upon these powerful daily messages but delves significantly deeper, offering a structured yet comforting guide for personal transformation. The book is thoughtfully organized into themed chapters, each exploring different facets of self-discovery and well-being. What truly sets it apart is its unique structure, designed to be read much like a daily calendar. This format encourages consistent engagement, allowing readers to absorb and reflect on one inspiring message or theme each day, making the journey of personal growth feel manageable and continuous.
As I began reading it, I was immediately struck by its comforting tone; it genuinely felt like receiving a warm hug from a trusted friend. The pages are packed with profound “food for thought,” offering insights and perspectives that I believe will resonate deeply with all of you. It’s more than just a collection of aphorisms; it’s a practical workbook for the soul, guiding you through introspection and offering actionable ways to apply positive principles to your everyday life. This book serves as a gentle mentor, inspiring readers to embrace their vulnerabilities, celebrate their strengths, and navigate challenges with greater grace and self-awareness. It’s an essential companion for anyone committed to cultivating a more positive mindset and fostering enduring mental wellness.

An Interview with Keri Nola: Insights from the Author
Let’s get to know Keri Nola and delve deeper into the inspiration behind her remarkable book, A Year on Your Path to Growth, through a brief Q&A session:
1 – What inspired you to write your book?
While I always envisioned writing a book as an integral part of my career, the true catalyst for putting pen to paper emerged from a deeply personal experience: my intention to find peace and meaning in my own life after the tragic death of a dear friend. As I embarked on my journey of grieving, I found myself grappling with profound questions about my life’s purpose and how to derive meaning from such immense pain. It was through this intense struggle and subsequent healing process that I discovered the courage to share my words with the world.
The book itself evolved organically over several years, initially stemming from daily doses of inspiration that I personally needed to hear and was consistently writing and posting on Facebook. Eventually, I realized the collective power of these messages and decided to transform them into this comprehensive book. Although A Year on Your Path to Growth isn’t exclusively focused on grief, it offers readers powerful strategies to embrace living from a perspective of wholeheartedness, love, and joy, while simultaneously providing guidance on how to constructively face and navigate the inevitable pain that is an inherent part of the human journey. It’s about finding light even in the darkest corners of life.
2 – What has surprised you most about the book writing process?
Without a doubt, the most surprising aspect has been the intense personal growth it has ignited within me at every single phase of the process. From wrestling with pervasive self-doubts and fears before making the crucial decision to publish, to experiencing heart palpitations and waves of nausea on the very day I submitted the final manuscript to my publisher, to shedding tears of pure emotion when I finally held the first physical copy in my hands. And then, there’s the ongoing learning curve of how to genuinely accept compliments and profound gratitude from people who tell me how the book is profoundly impacting their own journey of self-discovery – wow, it has been an emotional rollercoaster in the truest sense! Yet, I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything in the world because it has undeniably been one of the most significant growth opportunities I’ve encountered thus far, and for that, I am infinitely grateful.
3 – How do you like to “feed your soul”?
Oooohhh, I absolutely love this question because it touches on such a vital aspect of well-being! I nourish my soul in a multitude of ways. Spending quality time engaging in meaningful, authentic conversations and nurturing deep relationships is paramount. Journaling provides a crucial outlet for reflection and processing thoughts. I find immense peace and presence through yoga, and music always has a way of uplifting me. Expressing creativity through painting and the meditative act of cooking are also incredibly soul-feeding. And, of course, spending joyous time with my niece and nephew brings an unparalleled sense of pure, unadulterated happiness. These practices are essential anchors in my life, helping me stay grounded and centered.
4 – For fun, what’s your favorite type of meal to cook? Any favorite recipe you’d like to share?
I absolutely love cooking a meal that I’m genuinely excited to eat! For me, when I’m practicing gentle self-care, meals transform into a mindful process of truly tuning into my body’s needs and discovering what will nourish me most deeply. I adore preparing meals featuring fresh, vibrant, and colorful ingredients, always aiming for a delightful variety of flavors and textures. Typically, I’ll start with existing recipes but then infuse them with my own creative spin, allowing me to incorporate ingredients that truly resonate with my mind, body, and spirit. One of my long-standing favorite recipes, which I often adapt, is Aggie’s delightful Lemon Pepper Chicken with Artichokes, Mushrooms and Asparagus. My personal twist involves substituting organic baby spinach for the asparagus and using rice flour to make it a delicious gluten-free option. It’s a dish that truly nourishes from the inside out!
(Thank you, Keri, for sharing such profound insights and personal reflections!)
My Own Path to Soul Nourishment: 8 Simple Practices for Well-being
Keri’s thoughtful answers, especially her reflections on how she “feeds her soul,” truly resonated with me and prompted me to consider my own practices. For me, nourishing my soul doesn’t always require grand gestures; it can be as beautifully simple as sitting peacefully in my backyard, completely unplugged from the digital world, and simply watching my children run and play, lost in their joyful innocence. Or it might be the deeply satisfying experience of spending a Sunday afternoon after church, mindfully cooking a delicious and healthy meal to share with my beloved family and cherished friends. These moments, big or small, are what truly replenish my spirit. Here are 8 key ways I consistently strive to feed my soul:
Cook good, healthy food for someone else. There’s an undeniable joy and sense of purpose that comes from nurturing others through food. Preparing a nutritious meal for family, friends, or even a neighbor in need is a beautiful act of love and service that deeply nourishes my own spirit.
Spend time outdoors and near the water. Whether it’s a brisk walk on the beach, sitting by a lake, or even just gardening in my yard, the natural world has an incredible ability to calm my mind and reconnect me to something larger than myself. The serenity of water, in particular, always brings a profound sense of peace.
Go to church. My faith provides a fundamental anchor in my life. Attending church offers a space for spiritual reflection, community connection, and a moment to reset my perspective, focusing on gratitude and universal love.
Unplug (for the afternoon, a day, a few days…). In our hyper-connected world, intentionally disconnecting from screens and social media is crucial for mental clarity and emotional well-being. Even a few hours away from devices can feel like a mini-retreat, allowing me to be fully present in the moment.
Reading a good book. Losing myself in a captivating story or an insightful non-fiction work is a wonderful escape and a powerful way to expand my mind. It’s a quiet, introspective activity that provides both relaxation and intellectual stimulation, offering new perspectives and inspiring fresh thoughts.
Do something fun and spontaneous with my family. Creating joyful, unplanned memories with my children and husband is incredibly invigorating. These spontaneous adventures, big or small, strengthen our bonds and fill our lives with laughter and shared experiences, reminding me of the simple delights of family life.
Drop in for a yoga class at my gym. Yoga is more than just physical exercise for me; it’s a moving meditation. It allows me to connect with my body, calm my nervous system, and achieve a state of mindful presence. The combination of breath, movement, and focus is deeply restorative.
Connect with people, friends and family face-to-face (as opposed to through social media). While social media has its place, there’s no substitute for genuine, in-person connection. Sharing a meal, having a heartfelt conversation, or simply enjoying the physical presence of loved ones fosters deeper bonds and a richer sense of belonging that digital interactions simply can’t replicate.
